Is it possible to use a Windows XP pro machine as a DHCP server?

I haven't been able to install DHCP from the Add/Remove applett, but maybe there is some 3rd party sofware?

    Thanks

Possible - no reason why not. However, it isn't a standard XP service or application, so you'll have to find a third party application to provide the DHCP service.

Most routers and wireless points have built in DHCP services. It might be easier to use the service on one of those if there is one on your network.

A hunt of CNET download.com came up with this. I'm sure there are plenty of other similar application out there.

Thanks for the link, it looks like it will do the job nicely for not much money. I will give it a go.

At the moment, a PIX firewall is doing DHCP, but it is limited and I need to force clients to use a different gateway than the one that the firewall is pointing to.
