    Hi there,

I guess I got one problem with DHCP. In our company, we have win2003 server and use DHCP to assign IP address to all clients(some xp pro, and some win2000 pro). Everything was fine before, but three of them are haveing problems to use their Outlook Express, and check their mails form our ISP website this week.
I assigned them static IP to their PC, and after that they were able to use Outlook Express, and check mails from ISP website.
For this reason, I was wondering that DHCP caused this problem because after I assigned IP to them everything goes fine. Is there anyone can give me some advirses ?
    I'll really appreciate. Thank you.

    Hi Bill,

NO. Two of them need to stay in IE5.5 for some applications, and one is IE6.0. None of them have IE7.0
Base on ur suggestions, that is not DHCP problem ?

It surely can be a DHCP problem, but we need to find out a little more. Reset a problem machine back to automaticly determine IP and DNS server settings.

    Reboot.

    Start, Run, CMD
    ipconfig /all >ipconfig.txt
    notepad ipconfig.txt

    Print the results.

When the problem happens again, repeat the steps. Print the results and compare them.

Are the IP and DNS entries plausible?
Is any other web access effected?
Can you ping the ISP site?

Hopefully this is an XP machine.
    Start, Run, CMD
    netsh diag gui
    Enable all options.
    Run the test.

What shows as FAILED in the results? (The test will try to contact your ISP mail servers as defined in your OE accounts).
