This has been happening for about 2 weeks. The only software/hardware that I've added is a download of MyPublisher Bookmaker about 2 weeks before I started getting errors.
When I try to open my AOL, I get this full-screen error message:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software.
Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
    Tech info:
    ***STOP: 0X0000000A (0XDC8F704C, 0X0000000Z, 0X00000000, 0X804FFFB9)
    Beginning to dump physical memory
    Physical memory dump complete

When I restart, windows tells me that the system has recovered from a serious error with a device driver (no further info available)

Anyone know what I should do?

Wow, that article was very thorough! Yes, it seems to only happen when I attempt to open AOL after I have opened and closed Internet Explorer. If I open AOL right after I start the system up, I get no error.
I think I'll have to call Compaq to walk me through the troubleshooting...I don't want to void my warranty.
Unless the AOL connection rings a bell with anyone?
    Thanks...

Well, I don't know for sure but if you're on dialup, it might be an indicator that the modem driver is the one that's giving you fits. Just a thought.
