Ok. It's definitely the USB port. Our desktop USB (All 8 of them) is seemingly acting weird. Haven't tried Flash drives but I used a microSD card reader. When I'm copying files, it suddenly stop working and I need to forcefully remove the USB drive.

When I use the same USB card reader, it's fine on my mom's laptop. I felt sorry for my brothers who are using the family desktop. Since I'll be buying an external hard drive, I'm afraid I'm getting the same results though I haven't personally tried any normal flash drives for testing.

So, initially, is there any way I can fix this? perhaps a new motherboard or just re-install windows?

I don't trust this microSD card reader as I was ripped off. but it's doing fine on the laptop's USB port with no sudden stop.

I tried all USB ports on the desktop PC but I'm unable to do a complete file copy.

    Thank you for your time.

Standard first procedure - Device Manager and remove all USB controllers and root hubs listed. Reboot to allow Windows to redetect and test.
