How do you make desktop internet shortcuts, using Netscape 7.2?
I understand how to make bookmarks, but can't seem to figure out
how to make shortcuts appear on the desktop. Thanks....

    Welcome to the Forum, rjparr!

    rjparr,

If you want to make a Desktop shortcut for an internet page you're viewing, grab the small icon in the Location Bar, and drag it to the Desktop.

    OR

Drag a Bookmark to the Desktop to create a shortcut...

How have you been trying to create a shortcut?

You will have to move the top bar or click on the middle position at the upper right, so that you have some room to do what Ramona described

Another way to make shortcuts that I almost forgot about:

Drag the icon to the "Start" button and the shortcut will be placed at the top of the start Menu.

Ramona, do you mean to the Windows Start? It does not work in my XP. The moment I hit the toolbar, or the button, I get the no go icon.

    Westside,

That's what works on Windows 98SE. Yes, drag the Location Bar Icon to the Windows "Start" button, and it will add the link to the top of the "Start Menu ".

    So, no go on XP?

    Works as Ramona says in:
Win XP Home - sp1 just a maybe slight difference in what position it places the link in the Menu.

If you drag it to the Start button and hold it for a second the Start Menu will open and you can place the shortcut anywhere on the Start Menu or All Programs list that you prefer.

It does work in XP, but I don't think much of the idea unless you limit your choice of shortcuts. I, surely, don't have much room.
