The pc at my work has xp pro for an os. Whenever someone logs on their desktop icons are reaaranged from their previous log on.(Basically only 2 people log off and on.)Does anyone know what causes this and/or how to prevent it from happening? Right clicking on the desktop and selecting "arrange icons by" doesn't have anything to prevent this.As always thanks for any and all help.

rackster--When you say "arrange icons by ", I assume you tried the settings "Align to Grid" and "Lock Web Items... ".
If only one account is being used by two people, then the other person is probably changing the location of the icons. This can be automatically changed back at boot with the first reference here

However, I wonder how this will appeal to the first person who changed the icons' locations. :)
The other articles describe other solutions for just locking the icons in place.

This could be due to a NoSaveSettings entry in the registry. Try downloading and running the file on line 54, right side named "save settings on exit ". Then try logging off and see what happens.

The layout.dll that Jim linked to is something you might want to look into even if this fixes your problem. If your icons somehow get messed up it's a quick and easy way to put them back. Works great.
