I have XP Home. One of the Icons on the desktop is HP Director. After finally installing IE7 on 9/13 I am unable to bring up the HP Director which is the control for my hp scanner and hp printer.

HP said that I have to delete IE7 as there is a conflict.

If I did this and IE7 is downloaded with auto updates later this year won't I have the same problem?

    Help please!

HP director uses IE 6 as its Host.
HP will not comment on its plans because IE 7 is still in Beta.

I think you can assume safely that some provision will be made by HP when IE 7 is finally out of Beta.

To Bill Castner--- thanks for the info. I've emailed Microsoft re the problem but really do not expect a reply. IE7 will be gone from this computer in the next 15 minutes.
    Thank you again.

Microsoft and HP have been aware of the issue for some time. The issue is one for HP to resolve.

And HP will not issue a "fix" until IE 7 is final and no longer a Beta product.
