    Had to re-load XP due to a multi-boot ****-out but anyway, i istalled w98 and did the up-grade thing to XP pro....

    My (Q):
    the desktop has the old w98 view with the icons on the left side and would like the new xp look like i had before...
    I seen the tip somewhere but can't find it now.....how about it gang??

    I think this is what your asking for...

    1) right-click desktop then left-click on "Properties "
    2) "Display Properties" will appear
    3) Under "Themes" change Theme from "Windows Classic" to "Windows XP "
    4) Under "Appearance" you can also change your color scheme
