Hello, I have a Dell I-620 Desktop (Win 7) with a Dell ST24 Monitor. I've noticed lately that while looking at my screen ,say on the web the screen moves slowly down. It moves maybe a inch or 1/2 inch. Strange. Monitor maybe 5 months old & PC about 8 months. Any thoughts?
    Thanks,,
    Paul

I can only suggest making sure you have the latest driver installed.

Otherwise I'd contact Dell support for a warranty claim.

I would swap it with another monitor and see what happens. Generally a monitor simply displays what the computer's graphics solution tells it to display. If the second monitor does the same thing, you know the problem is on the computer side. If you try this Dell monitor on another computer and it happens there too, you know the problem is with the monitor. But right now, at least with the information we have, you don't know if the problem is with the monitor, or the computer driving the monitor.

The thing about monitor drivers is they are not really "drivers" at all. Computers and operating systems don't communicate with monitors so they don't need drivers. They communicate with graphics solutions (cards or integrated). All a so-called monitor driver does is inform Windows of the brand and model number and resolutions that monitor supports (by graying out those resolutions it does not support). Without the monitor driver, Windows simply lists the monitor as a generic PnP monitor, and it lists all resolutions the graphics solution supports. But the signal to the monitor is the same, regardless. Unless of course, something is corrupt.

That said, I would ensure you have the latest "graphics driver" for your system. I would provide a link but I cannot find an I-620 on Dell's website. :( I did find this but urge you to verify before first.
