DELL small desktop Optiflex G280 [Change CMOS Battery]

Hello all you experts here,

I hope some one can advise me re changing the coin size battery in my wifes Dell PC. On starting up, it keeps telling her "alert !! Low battery voltage, press F1 to continue ", where upon, she continues with her PC work as normal.

I have identified the cell battery code as CR2302, and want to know if it is OK to simply remove the old and replace the new one? Or maybe there is a problem with this approach, like disturbing PC settings or something of that sort?

I can find my way around some parts of the hardware; add extra RAM, change a fan, etc, but I am not sure about this cell battery change over.

Dick Smith Stores will sell them for around $3.50 I think that you have them over in the WA.
