Someone thought they would be funny and disable the LAN and WiFi adapters in the Bios and then put a password on it. Dell was no help because the screen that has the code flashes by so fast I cant read it.

    It's a Phoenix Bios 2.6

Is there a chance I can dissemble this machine and pull a battery or short some jumpers together or are those options out the window?

    Thanks.

AFAIK you'll just need to remove the Coin-Cell battery. See your Service Manual.

That would be sweet. Several things I have read said the bios password was stored in the Nvram on newer laptops and battery removal wouldn't default it.

    I'll give it a shot!

    No luck.
Left the battery out for 15 min. and then reassembled and it still wants a password. I even flashed the bios to see if that would clear it and that didn't do any good.

Did you disconnect all power to the laptop? You need to remove the power adapter, main battery as well as the CMOS battery. It may take more than fifteen minutes.

You can try the following technician backdoor passwords for Dell and Phoenix Bios.

    Dell
    BIOS
    CMOS
    phoenix
    PHOENIX

    Yep tried all of those.
Yes main battery, internal battery, and power supply.

I will pull it apart and let it sit longer but from what I read it wont do any good.

Well we have a partial success!

Had the batteries and power off for 4 hours.

Bios still has a password on it but the Wifi and LAN connections are back and the clock is on May of 2006.

The standard passwords still don't work but I don't care at this point!
