Dell bios password problem

I'm trying to fix this for a friend and need some help, her little brother got into the bios and put a password on the hard drive and now can't remember what it is.

I thought I could just unplug it and remove the battery but that didn't work, the bios went back to all defaults but the hd password is still set.

I also tried using the XP cd to reformat but it was unable to access the drive.

Is there another way I can reset the bios?
