I wanted to try a different TIFF plugin for IE 6, so I downloaded one and tried it out. It doesn't work like I wanted, so now I want to go back to what I was using before. But I cannot figure out how to delete the new plugin!

I went to the plugin folder for Internet Explorer and deleted the plugin there. And I deleted the folder it came in. I searched for any files associated with it, and deleted the couple I found. But somehow it is still in there causing trouble.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

Something that has worked for me. ( most of the time ) :)

Before installing anything a run scanregw and allow it to make a backup of the registry. Then check the rb00x.cab files in the Windows\sysbackup folder to make sure the new one is there. ( check the time for lastest ) as Windows should have made one if it was restarted for the day.

I install something or make changes.

    Me no like new stuff.

I then boot to the Command prompt at startup and do a scanreg /restore. Bingo ! New changes are gone.

Then you should be able to delete the proper folder and also check the Windows\temp folder and the Startup folder for anythiing pretaining to the program.

If used to it capacity Scanregw and scanreg /restore can be great time and aggrevation savers. I have not had it fail me YET.

I know this works in 98 FE & SE but I am not sure about ME as I believe it does not have the Command Prompt at boot up.

Or, if the unwated item has been installed less than 5 days you could be a scanreg /restore using a backup prior to the install if unwanted item.
