Deleting items in outlook

    I have Outlook 2000 ver. 9.0.0.2711 and would like to know how to delete mail items (Apart from pressing delete)

    When i delete things they change colour and have a line throught themselves.

    How do i set things to disspaer straight away of after a few mins?

    From that description I gather that you are connecting to an IMAP folder. After you "Delete" items, just go to Edit and click Purge Deleted Messages.
