There are some icons I can not delete from the desktop, like the Microsoft Outlook ( I use exclusively the Outlook Express). I don't want to delete the Microsoft Outlook from my computer, just delete from the desktop or drop into a collecting folder for recently unused programs. No way... It sticks to the open desktop. There are also a few such icons, like the Canon My Multipass, which I would like just to move into a common Cannon folder, it will not go. What can I do?

Take a look at the picture. Do you have the 'lock it down' block ticked?

I use Outlook but only want it in the Quicklaunch not the Desktop so I use TweakUi>Desktop to get it off the desktop.

I received info, that if one has the Outlook of 2002 or less, the registry has to be modified (microsoftSupport article 321777)
Since before fooling around dangereously with the registry, I want to try other means possible.
Maggie: what is and where is your recommended TweakUi?
    Thanks both of you.
