Delay when viewing the shares microsoft windows network while connecting modem

I did encounter a problem that i connect my modem while click on the microsoft windows network (windows 2000 professional), there is a delay (take some time) to view my entire network computer. How do i solve this problem? Why this happen? i have read an article regarding "Delay when viewing shares on a windows xp based computer ". I have try on the step but this still can't help me to settle the problem.

I have not tried this fix.
Nor do I know if the shares you refer to are on a 98/ME PC.
The solution appears to talk about task scheduler.

If you decide to mess around in the registry, remember to back it up first.
