    Okay, I've read my old postings and followed the TweakIU and right click the My Documents folder options as suggested. No change!

    Maybe I'm not explaining my case very well.

    When I click on Explorer I get DeskTopMy Documents. (Can I Delect this without deleting all of my documents in the D:\My Documents Folder which it points to?)

    All I EVER wish to see when saving a file or opening up Explorer is D:\

    Not DeskTopMy Documents or anything else. Just the D drive.

    Thanks.

    Rick :)

    I had modified my Start Menu's Windows Explorer item some time back (and I dragged it to the upper left section of the Start Menu for easy access). It was modified as follows.
    Windows Explorer opened to the D:/ drive anyway (and it appears the /select switch is not necessary).

    After I set the Target as %windir%\explorer.exe /e,D:\ (similar to Steve's suggestion) and then clicked the Apply and OK buttons. The Target reverted back to %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,D:\

    ==========

    I would rather have Windows look only in the Windows folder for the explorer.exe file and ignore other folders in the path (just in case I become a victim of malware that may delete the legitimate explorer.exe file and place a malicious explorer.exe file in the C:\ or C:\windows\system32 directory, for example).

    Therefore, today I made the following settings which appear to stick (and they work).

    I clicked Apply and then OK. Upon looking at the Windows Explorer menu item properties, it not also now shows
    I do not know whether these settings would force Windows to ignore the path if it couldn't find the explorer.exe file in the Windows directory. If I recall correctly, DOS would resort to looking through folders in the path if it couldn't find an executable in the current folder displayed in the command line. Does Windows perform similarly by default?
