I was trying to do a clean install on an XP Dell Dimension 3000 desktop. When I went to hit any key to boot from CD, I HAD to hit ENTER to get a reaction for 1 thing, then when it chgd screens, it came up to a Black Screen telling me something about a "Debug Trap "
I have not got a clue what to do. It wont do the install and I have no idea what it is trying to do....
Also...I noticed, (its my X's old puter) that it has a Intel(9) prosetwired conexant 56k modem that did not come with the pc, I didnt know he had gotten one at all...is that for a wireless connection???? Any info gr8tly appreiated

    Hello juey,
Try booting from the CD as the primary boot device - go into the BIOS and change the boot order to ROM device first if it isn't already. Follow the instructions from the link http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

I'm not sure what this word is prosetwired but from the rest of the description, it sounds like a phone line modem.

    Regards - Charles
