Resolved dead battery

    I have a Toshiba laptop. If the battery in the laptop were to go completely dead and I did not put a new battery in until a week later, would I lose all my memory savings (such as passwords, etc.) Thank you very much. Stang

    No you'll be fine regarding software settings. Just think of it as turning off a desktop for a week. No harm done.

    Caveat, obviously this means you shut down or hibernate the computer. Removing the battery when the laptop is only sleeping could cause problems.
