    Hi all,

I have a PC that is part of a school network. I just installed SP3 for XP. Whenever I restart my PC the date automatically changes to July 1,2008.

I went into setup and changed the date and time and saved the changes and restarted but still i have the same problem.

    Any suggestions

Do other computers on the same network show the same symptom?

If so, then perhaps the network server's date/time is incorrect.

Boot into the comp bios and verify the correct date is set there, if not, set it to present date/time. Save changes made & boot to Windows.

Then double click the clock in sys tray, set correct date/time.

Next, click Internet Time tab & uncheck "automatically synchronize... ".

Next, go to control panel > admin tools > services > set Windows Time to Disabled and stopped.

If time does not stick now on comp then likely the bios battery is dead or almost dead.
