I would like to transfer (copy) the contents of my eTower 433i computer's hard drive to my new computer (another eMachines with a model number of T2245) and plan on networking the two to accomplish this unless there's an easier way. I will use my present computer for backup in the event of a disk crash, virus infection, or other malfuntion. What would be the easiest way to accomplish my objectives---I don't plan on having a keyboard, or other peripherals connected to my old computer once my new computer is up and running with the contents of my hard drive transerred to my new computer---thanks for your help, Marion McCaleb

The easiest way is to remove the hard drive from the old.
Mount it in the new, in place of the CD-ROM temporarily.
Copy everything to a folder on the new drive, then you can format it and leave it for extra storage, or put it back in the old computer.
If you're going to network, you need to have a NIC in each machine and a crossover cable, along with the right networking protocalls installed.
