    Hello

I just got a new laptop and am in the process of transferring files from my old desktop PC to my laptop. I recently transferred my picture gallery to the laptop but now everytime I open the My Pictures folder I get a DEP error and windows closes the folders. These are just pictures off my camera so I don't see how they could have viruses or anything. Anyone know what I should do about this? Thanks

    Sol

You might also go to My Computer > properties > advanced tab > Startup and Recovery section > Settings button > Edit button and in the notepad window that opens, change OptIn to either OptOut, (or better) AlwaysOff, save and exit. Need to reboot to take effect.

DEP is a reasonable idea but is overdone in MS' application of it.
