This is a new one on me. My neighbor called this afternoon asking for help with his old HP computer. He took a CD that he used to install his printer and put it in the CD drive, shut it and up popped MS Media Player and tried to play the disk like it was a music CD. We closed down MSMP and using explorer looked at his D drive which read "Track01.cda. "

We then took another disk (this one to install his scanner) and the same thing happened and using explorer, it also was titled "Track01.cda. "

We messed around a bit, reinstalled MSMP and got what we expected which was no change.

    I'm at a loss

He is running with Windows 989SE.

    Help!
