I attempted the following in 2 different computers (One with ME and the other one with a clean new HD using the MS 6-floppy boot-disk set) with the same outcome:
I ran the WinXP installation process all the way through until the point where it shuts down and reboots. HOWEVER, when it reboots, it never gets past the "WinXP loading black screen" (the one with the XP Logo at the center, and the little blue horizontal moving "thingy ").
After displaying this screen for a few seconds (10-20), the computers go into a Pitch Black screen, the CD-rom starts running at max speed intermittently and then quits. Nothing happens after that.
I am absolutely puzzled b/c this is a CD that has been used by other people successfully and I cannot understand what I could be doing wrong. (NO, it is not a pirated copy :p!! MS and my employer have an alliance and they give us 1 free download of XP Professional)
Could it be that XP is not compatible with my HP Monitor? (about 5yrs old). If so, how do I check for that?
Thank you so much for your help and I apologize for the long-winded posting.

    Thanks Guys!

I made it work in one of the units (the one with the 400 Celeron). And will be working on the other one in the next couple of weeks. At the moment, I have a more important issue at hand I need your valuable assistance with. This is a link to that Issue which I posted earlier this week . It is regarding having 2 operatins systems as options to boot up. However, Only one of them works (98). I just would like to delete the XP option.

Thank you so much guys!! Have a great day!!!

    You guys are  cool!!
