Wondering if there are any opinions out there in regards to modular PC power supplies. PC Power and Cooling explicitly warns against them on their site. Part of me thinks this is just marketing hooey. But then again, if I were them I would just introduce my own modular product.

Anyone have any thoughts on the subject?

Interesting. One thing I read was that it introduces the possiblity of bad connections at both ends of a cable. A bad connection will result in high resistances and the supply of an incorrect voltage.

Yeah, that's what they say. I'm guessing that like anything else, there are good and bad modular supplies.

I've been fiddling with new PC configurations for quite some time and the one that seems to be in the lead would be based on the Silverstone SUGO SFF.

But, if I do that, I'd want to go modular with short cabling. Both happily supported (for an additional charge:) ) by Silverstone via the ST60F PSU and PP03 short-cable set

Oh and don't forget the small fans for the case and PSU, also for an extra charge:)

But the whole thing is a real elegant combo IMO; everything you need, nothing you don't, plus it looks great.

Of course theres that nagging modular question mark....
