I am having a bit of trouble with my D-Link G604T four port modem. I can set it up with the http://10.1.1.1/cgi-bin/webcm web pages, but on rebooting my PC the modem only connects to the 1394 net adapter. I then have to go back to the 10.1.1.1 thing again. I usually get two internet icons in the Sys tray, 1394 and the G604T. I have both of those a I type this post, the G604T is the one flashing as data is transferred.

I have been thro everything I can find to do with the setups but have had no joy. I have had the G604T working well in the past without disabling the 1394, so at this stage I am thoroughly bamboozled. I do have some ability ( not skill ) with the innards of PCs and can get around the insides with assistance.

My PC is P4, HD 80Gb, 1 Gb RAM, dual monitors.

Any ideas for me to try folk?

Btw, a prosperous New Year to all.

That sounds to me like something specific to the unit. I'd suggest you contact DLink tech support first then come back to us if you don't get anywhere with them.

OK, having read Reggies post and taken a look at the D - Link web pages, I discover a note about cookies. I checked my browser settings and then I remembered that I was trying to limit all the spam I was getting by limiting my Mozilla to remembering cookies for only one day. I reset that to 30 days and "hey presto" I get my D - Link modem back to auto connect.

However, I also got a heap of extra spam as well !! I tested a setting of 2 days and that seems to work out as well, so I will leave it at that and live with a little extra spam.

Thanks to all who read and responded to my problem here; on this wonderfully helpful PC web assistance site.
