    1.0 Introduction
    Trend Micro® CWShredder v2.16, is a CoolWebSearch trojan remover
    released for Windows related platforms.
    New CoolWebSearch Variants Detected:
    There are [7] new variants supported in this version. The new variants include:
    1. CWS.SnugWeb
    2. CWS.CoolSearchA
    3. CWS.EZSearch
    4. CWS.CraftSearch
    5. CWS.FindOnline
    6. CWS.ShopNav.D
    7. CWS.WebSearch

    2.0 Release Package Contents
    Trend Micro® CWShredder release components are as follows:
    CWShredder.exe (eb09b522c24b5b582fed94eb7b3cfbfb)
    3.0 Known Issues
    3.1 CWShredder.exe is intended to run on Windows 2000/XP/2003 Operating systems only.
    Windows ME/9x/NT4 operating system may not have the appropriate system libraries to run the application.

    4.0 Tested on the following platforms:

    4.1 Windows 2000 Professional SP4 and below
    4.2 Windows 2000 Advance Server SP4 and below
    4.3 Windows XP Professional SP1/SP2
    4.5 Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition SP1

    There seems to be some confusion whether TrendMicro has withdrawn version 2.16 of CWShredder.

    Perhaps the issue is that v2.16 will not work on Windows versions before those listed in item #4 in charlesvar's post.
