The curser has begun to jump and skip. Also, when I am using my audio editor the sound is choppy, skips, starts and stops. It seems like there is a memory problem somewhere, but I've cleared all temp files and there's plenty of space on my drives. Any ideas? Thanks

Sounds like you have something running in the background that is using a huge chuck of your resources or cpu time. This may be anything from *backups,
*to programs checking for web connection to look for updates or to phone home with updates
*to windows doing one of it's own busy background chores, and then there's the
*dreaded "viral" busy bees that could be doing anything.
    *mail program checking for emails
*autoupdaters, such as Microsoft, Virus program, even Media Player, (either checking for or silently background installing, depending on how you have set your options or are allowing these things to operate). Almost any software these days have an option to do this. Nothing is just "install-click and go" anymore, you must check or peek into your option/settings and read your readmes with everything.

See if you can out what is happening behind the scenes. This or these may help:
"Process Viewer ":Free (this is a "station wagon ". Good , reliable, does what it's designed to do.)

"Task info 2003 ":Shareware 30 day trial (this is a "porche ". Excellant, Lot's of extra's, for when something else or heavier diagnostic needs looking into)

You can use cntrl/alt/del to bring up taskmanager and possibly catch and see what's running. An end task on anything NOT needed may expose the bugger. This does not show everything loaded or running but it's worth a shot.
