    Dear all,

    As you most probably know, many laptops/desktops comes with the F11 command that restore the image already created on a small partition;

    How can I (which software/tutorial) create an image after doing a full install (Windows+Applications, ..) on a partition and be able to restore it with the F11 (or any other) command?

    If not, what other way can help me pass by a full re'installation when the computer is damaged?

    Thanx

    I suggest you read up on the capabilities of Acronis True Image Home which will cover most of your requirements.

    Not sure about the F11 bit though, but consider this - if the drive fails F11 is of no use whatsoever :)

    Safest method is to create a disk image on independent media (DVD) and the Acronis Rescue disk. In the event of a problem boot from the Rescue CD and insert the image DVD when requested.

    It is important to keep the image up to date - unless you are happy to restore to an earlier point in time.

    Restoring using F11 is limited to certain brand name comps that have a restore partition and also have a hidden boot partition that contains the restore software. The F11 key causes the comp to boot from that hidden partition. Unless yours is such a computer then you won't be able to use the F11.

    Hi,

    Thanx for your prompt replies;
    I downloaded Macrium Reflect FREE and used it: big success!
    I'll try as well Acronis.

    Thanx again,
