anyone got a clue what this might be? or what is causing my crashes?

More detail needed to track this one down. So you will need to turn off the automatic reboot after a crash and take a look at the blue screen information.

Right-click My Computer then left-click properties, advanced tab, Start Up and Recovery Settings and turn off the automatic reboot.
