Crash, Security Update issue or not

I noticed many people are having similar problems to what I have.

Some error posts might be repeats in the event log

I have Windows XP SP2

I keep my computer on forever but restart like every 3 days or somethin

I did have a lot of programs running in the background which might contribute to my problem.

I went to play Grand Theft Auto Vice City and right at the logo screen when the game starts, my computer crashed.

Normally, I can end these programs through task manager.

This is the first time I was forced to restart Windows XP because the game won't quit.

I never had this problem before, whats goin on?

I am wondering if one of the security updates that microsoft put out could be causing my system to become unstable.
