I'm helping my friend who has ME as his OS. [My OS is Win98 1st Edition.] ME creates many thousands of *.CPY files which I understand are copies of everything created in word processing. These *.CPY files range in size from 1 KB to 41,280 KB.

Is it safe to simply delete all these many thousands of CPY files found in C:\_restore\temp ?

Is there some ME tweak or ME fix to stop all these files from always being created by ME?

    Thanks,

    Stan

Won't let you delete them anyway while system restore is active in ME. They are protected by ME!

Win98 does not have System restore, and those CPY files are not word processing files.

Sounds as though you best leave them alone.

Are there other issues you are trying to correct or is disk space running thin. If not forget it!
