CPU usage extreme

    Where can I get help with my computer slowing down to a crawl and sometimes not even a crawl. It will sit there for 15 to 45 seconds before the pointer will move on the screen.

    i have looked at the processes that are running and find that some grow in size as I use the computer. Taskmanager sometimes (frequently) goes to 100% usage. Iexplorer.exe is quite large as are svchost, and explorer.exe

    Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

    what version of XP are you using and are you running the service pack1 for XP?
