    Hi,

I'm not trying to double-post or anything but I have a thread going in General about a new system build here:

    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?threadid=24299

Why I started a new thread here, in Hardware, is because I'd like to know if something exists or not.

Is there anything available these days in the way of a hardware device that I can add to my system where my CPU temperature can be displayed on a hardware device you install into your case??? I may be so far out there with this notion, it's pathetic, so forgive me in advance if that be the case.

I'm building a new system into the following case that has a case temperature guage in the front. Anything available for a CPU temperature guage system???

    Case review is here: http://www.modthebox.com/review162_2.shtml

    Thanx for your patience,
    Randy

    Hi.

You might get one of those digital indoor/outdoor temperature monitors. Inexpensive. Run the outdoor cable to the cpu. Should work great and you can position the probe just about anywhere. You'll also have the benefit of knowing the ambient room temp at the case with the other part.

    Thanx, PeteC & giles!

PeteC......what a maroon I was. I guess I would have figured it all out when I got the case. I thought the sensor was preset to measure inside case temperature at some strategic location.

    From the site you posted:

Front LCD Temp. Disp., you can either tape it next to the CPU cooler, on HDD or VGA, or just let it hang in the case depending on which temp. you want to monitor. Hook up the 4pin Input connector(Male) connected the Black-and-Red twisted cable to the 4pin Output connector(Female) from Power Supply to power on.

...so it looks good to do what I want it to do after all.

Giles has a pretty good idea going as well. Being that I already have a sensor, I will route it to the CPU.

    Thanx guys!
    Randy
