I know that a motherboard must support the processor (CPU) being used, but I am not sure about the L2 cache size. Does the CPU amount of L2 cache require a motherboard that support it? Example, if the CPU is rated at 1MB cache, does the motherboard have to support that amount or is cache just a feature of the CPU? I am not clear on this issue. I need to replace my motherboard and I have an Intel P4, 2.4GHz, 533 FSB, L2 cache 1MB processor.

    You answer is.

You processor has on-die L2 cache which is memory that is located on the processor die, so any motherbaord will work.
