    Corrupt files,
In my computer with Windows 98 OS some of the files seem to be corrupt the computer is doing all shorts of unwanted things.
i think i know the program causing it. Some of my other programs (i noticed) are using some of the files from this program. if I remove the corrupted program will those programs using these files not operate properly? If removing this program does not take care of the problem is there any way to find out which one other than remove & see.
    :)

    Program: Amipro-old

When I open any program memory goes way down. When I boost brings memory up to like 42%. I have Memory Boost program w/h % gauge on taskbar & boost feature.
128 ram P11 storage on HD 10GB. Free 60% approx.
Computer locks up often. Some of my programs don't funcition properly.

The Memory Booster may be the cause ( or part of it ).

It may be freeing up the wrong files.

I have tired Mem Boosters in the past and dumped then all fo none.

More physical RAM is a better answer.

I would suggest to stop using Memory Boost, Win98 does a fine job of handling memory by itself. Your system runs better the more of the Ram that it uses. Unused memory is wasted memory.
When you boost, code is moved out of your Ram and is written to the swapfile, then windows loads that code back into memory when it needs it, which could be right when or after it is written to the swapfile, and maybe causing the lockups in the process.

If you really want to increase your system performance and seeing you have 128 mb of Ram, this will help, of course after disabling Memory Boost. Open your C:\Windows\System.Ini file with Notepad. You will see one section with the heading [386Enh], add this line under that.

    ConservativeSwapFileUsage=1

    Save and reboot.

    HEHEHE .

I keep forgetting about the swap file as I always run a fixed minimum sized one on another partition.

Also you may be running too much un-needed stuff at startup.

Try using MSCONFIG and shutting some of it down.
