Copying camcorder film

Is Movie Maker 2 which comes with the Microsoft SP2 package the way to go or is there a better alternative?

 

I can't tell you if there's a better alternative or not but I've used Movie Maker to copy a lot of old camcorder tapes that I have and it seems to work just fine.

I've also used Power Director Pro (came bundled with my DVD drive). It works fine too but I don't really see any advantage of using it over Movie Maker. Not for this anyway. Either one works fine for me.

 

Movie Maker is OK just to for what you want to do. The only thing is that it saves your file in a WMV file. With that it will play in the Windows Media Player. If you want to make a DVD from the WMV file you can use Nero Vision. If you plan to do a lot of editing you would be better to get a better program than using Movie Maker.
