I need to copy info from an old hard drive. I know I can connect it and make it the slave. Also read, an easier method is just disconnect the CDrom ribbon and power, and connect the drive there. Anyone here done it this way?

Can't see the difference - end result the same. Maybe easier to hook up to the end of a cable? Drive will need to be set as master on EIDE 2 assuming CD is also master.
