   I want to make a copy of my default printer and set the copy to print only black. how do I copy it?

   Use the Add Printer Wizard to install the same printer again - you will end up with e.g. HPDeskJet 520 (copy 1). Don't know if this gives the facility to set each version up separately or not - give it a try!
   
   I don't know of a way of simply copying a printer
