I have a crashed hard drive on hand. It has failed to be cloned but is still accessible. Some files are able to copy out of it but many aren't with different types of errors.

Some years ago, I used Scan / Chkdsk to fix the bad sectors first then the remaining files are all good. Is this method still good? Or,

Is there a command or utility that can copy a whole folder (with sub-folders and files) with successfully copied files to another drive while unsuccessfully copied files with their names on a log (e.g. a text file)?

Hi IvanH. You can try running chkdsk to fix bad sectors on the harddrive so you can copy that data off of it. But with a harddrive that has failed there is no guarantee that will work.

You can try TeraCopy for Microsoft Windows and see if that program works with copying the data off of that harddrive.
