In IE8 - File > Import & Export - follow the wizard to export Favourites

In IE 8 - File > Import & Export - follow the wizard to import Favourites

    You're welcome :)

Note you can do the same for Cookies & Feeds.

Oh. I never thought of transferring cookies. Can IE do only part of them, by selection? Be a little dream, I have time to look into making one set of favourites / bookmarks to be used and updated by IE, FF, Safari, Chrome... That'll be wonderful.

No - it's all or nothing, but I guess you could always export the lot to a file - it's cookies.txt by default and then edit in Notepad before importing to IE 9
