Appreciate the time you're taking to read this and possibly help...

I have a user who uses the site www.globeinvestor.com to monitor stocks and funds, if you go to the site there's a link called 'My Stocklist and Fundlist" where you can add stocks and funds. As long as you dont clear your cookies or temp files the lists stay intact - this user was recently upgraded to a new laptop, i'm looking for a way to move his lists from this website over to his new machine

I've tried copying the C:\documents and settings\profile\cookies and local settings\temporary internet files folder from the old machine

I've also tried using the IE export/import feature

The lists still do not show up - any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I[m thinking its just not possible and maybe somehow cookies and temp files on this site bind themselves to the PC and cannot be used on another computer

Cookies can be exported to another computer using the IE Import/Export wizard - can also use this facility to backup cookies if required.

Temporery Internet files cannot - they are what they say they are - temporary.

As it is good practice from the security viewpoint to setup IE to empty temp internet files on closing the browser and to check the option not to save encrypted pages to disk I doubt the list info is stored there, more likely on the web site, possibly in the cookie.

I think your user will have to setup the list again on the new computer.
