I am having trouble reading a document created by a MAC user. They are using MS word for Apple computers. Everytime this person sends me the file I cannot open it. I am asked to convert the file. When I try to convert the file I have no luck. I am using Win98 with Office 2000 SP3. Can anyone tell me how to convert the file? :(

    Hi NJTech30

Sorry, but I'm going on memory from a post I was involved with a number of months ago. If I recall correctly, MACS / Apples do NOT use file extensions... there is a type and creator code internal to the file that does the same job as the extension on a PC. Mac files can have extensions to be compatible with the PC world, but they don't require them. Have your friend send his "Word files" with the required .DOC extension so your PC knows which program to associate the file to.
