I am installing Netscape 7 on about 70 computers in my office all on different operating systems (98, 2000, XP) and I have run into difficulty trying to convert the profiles from 4.79 to 7 if I only have one to convert. Netscape claims that it will automatically convert the profile if there is only one, but it doesn't. So, when I install 7, none of my bookmarks, mail folders, and addresses etc come through - I have to do everything the long way. However, I do not run into any problems if I'm installing 7 onto a computer with more than one profile, the profile manager asks which one I'd like to convert, and then everything gets easily converted. If there is someone who has run into this problem and knows the answer, or if someone just knows the answer, I would be truly grateful.

    thanks,

    Shawn

Welcome to the Forum, Shawn Murphy!

    Hi Shawn,

I'm totally clueless about configurations on a LAN. However, if you want to force the 4.79 Profile Migration you can add a Command Line Switch to your Desktop Icon Properties Sheet:
-installer - Launches the 4.79 migration window
Your Target Line would look similar to this:
    "C:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape\Netscp.exe" -installer

    HTH,

    Ramona :D

Thank you very much Ramona, I will try that on my next installation, and I will let you know.

If anyone else has tried this, please do give me all the info you can.

    Thanks again,

    Shawn
