I'm in the process of changing xp computers to win7. One computer has very extensive (huge) email folders in Outlook Express. What is the best program to convert them to, Outlook 2010 or Windows Live Mail? I tried importing the mail into a Outlook 2003 program that was on the machine, and it lost a lot of the dates changing them to the current day's date. So I created a new personal folders group with a later version of folders, and it still did the same thing.

I read that it is easier to convert to Windows Live and then import into Outlook. Would like any advice you can give me on this. I would eventually like it all to be in Outlook 2010 but not if it will screw up the contacts and calendars currently in Outlook as it (without mail) syncs with Blackberry just fine.

So should I keep the two programs separate? Is there a still better mail program I should use? I really appreciate any advice.

    Thanks

If you were to switch to web-based email (such as Gmail) instead, your email would:

    1) Never have to be synced, converted, exported, imported, etc., etc., (ad nauseam),

    2) Be accessible from most any internet capable device with a browser . . . even someone else's device,

    3) Relieve worries about your computer containing your email suddenly going titsup and taking all your email with it,

    4) Rid you of Outlook expense,

    5) ...

    :)

The folders are very complex, huge, and contain financial adviser information so that isn't an option. I really need help on the original question.
