    Hi all

can anyone suggest an application which can convert from Encapsulated Postscript (Level3) format to something "reasonable" like TIFF or BMP

the files I am trying to convert are (colour) line drawings with a small amount of text (schematics produced by Cadence software)

I've tried Ghostview/Ghostscript, Adobe Photoshop 7, PaintShopPro 7 with no luck

level1 and level2 EPS files are no problem - but I need something which will handle level3

I don't need transparency. But getting a handle on the anti-aliassing (like, turning it off!) is pretty important.

    Thanks in advance, Hugh.

Yes, sometimes we cannot see the forest for the trees. Did it work?

    Hi John

sorry for taking a while getting back to you, am in the middle of reinstalling everything and IrfanView wasn't on the PC at that point...

...but it is now. Unfortunately it didn't read this flavour of EPS: it said:

This is a Postscript EPS file

Please note: IrfanView can only read EPS files with a TIF/WMF inside. Try with GhostView.

...which I'd already tried. A colleague has suggested having a trawl around gnu.org, which would perhaps seem to be my best bet?

thanks again for your help, and Best Wishes, Hugh
