I acquired a PC and when doing a clean-up I found an item in the Control Panel named 'Run PC-cillin Internet Security'.

There is no such program on the computer and clicking on the item does not do anything.

Would anyone happen to know how I can delete this?

Search Windows for *.cpl and see if it turns up.

    Thank you for the reply.

After I had posted my problem, I decided to move all the '.cpl' files out of the system32 folder, hoping that anything of importance would be restored automatically, which it was.

I then compared the lists and by trial and error discovered which file I needed to delete and my problem went away.

    Thank you for your time.
