[Resolved] Constant reboot when booting up.

    Hello all,

I have this wierd problem that I cannot get pass. My cousin has this HP laptop loaded with Vista business on it. Just recently he has a bunch of malware stuff due to his Limewire program. I uninstalled Limewire and tried to scan the computer with malwarebytes and symantec anti-virus. Everything works great until I uninstalled symantec anti-virus due to it bogging his laptop and I believe the malware came back somehow. This causes the laptop to have a constant reboot when starting up vista. I tried starting up in safe mode but came across the same reboot issue.

Is there any other way I can get pass this issue so I can rescan his laptop? Or is there some sort of bootable cd that would scan the laptop?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry about Limewire, I know it is not looked highly in this forum, but I would like to be straight forward to you that to beat around the bush.

    Thank you.

I'm sure using Limewire is frowned upon... But you're troubleshooting his computer. Letting the forum know as part of the diagnosis shouldn't be something you get chastized for. I'd hope not, anyway.

I have somewhat found a solution to this matter. What I used is a Microsoft Windows Vista Recovery Console Disc to repair the boot.ini issue that causes my reboot loop. Once I was able to load up windows, I was able to run malwarebytes and symantec to remove those nasty trojans... After all that, everything run fine at the moment.

    Thank you again!!!
