    This is driving me nuts!

Things were going along OK with my Vista Home computer. Then, I did the updates to SP1.

1st Question: Is (was) it normal to have multiple files over several sessions to update to SP1?

2nd Question: After the updates, my HD light is constantly on and off, and ZoneAlarm is constantly blinking (mostly) red (and low green) bars. In ZA's Control Panel, up at the top by "PROGRAMS" an icon is blinking on and off for a generic shared program. When I hover my pointer on that, it claims to be:

    Server driver
    Listening to port(s): TCP: 3389

Next to this icon is another generic shared icon that is NOT blinking:

    Host Process for Windows Services
    Listening to Port(s): UDP: 55628
    (Trusted Zone Only)

The next icon is a generic icon:

    Host Process for Windows Services

The final icon (since there can only be 4) is for QuickBooks Automatic Updates.

My Vista computer was behaving itself before SP1.

    So now what

    Yes.

I can't help you with ZA, but port 3389 is Windows Remote Desktop port.

    Hi Arie!

OK, so obviously it's doing this now because of the recent SP1 upgrade.

New Q1 - Should I be worried? Do I need it? WHY would I need it? I don't (at least currently and don't anticipate needing to later, but...) work on 1 computer from another. I DO transfer files back and forth to work on them...

    (I know... technically that's 3 questions... :))

New Q2 - How do I STOP it (IF I need / want to)?

BTW - my current local network (if it matters in this situatuation) consists of:
    1 - Vista Home
    3 - XP (2 Home, 1 Media Center)
    2 - 98 SE
