    Hi,
All of a sudden I've been getting constant IE 7 errors. One reads:
    Internet Explorer SysFader: Application Error
The instruction at 0x02d76eal referenced memory at 0x820b7bc0 the memory cannot be read click cancel to..etc.

That is only one in many. I've never had any problems before now with this. I have un-installed and re-installed but that's not the solution.

I haven't added any new software lately..I though auto update had to do with it..but it doesn't since that works now.

Any ideas or should I just ignore them?

    Thanks again for your help.

    Angela

    One avenue ....

Tools > Manage Add-ons and disable all. If the problem is resolved re-enable one by one, testing after each.

    Another .....

Last Patch Tuesday included a cumulative security update for IE 7 - http://www.microsoft.com:80/technet/security/Bulletin/MS08-010.mspx It should be in Add/Remove programs - not in mine, but I am running SP3 and it may well be covered in that.

    and finally .....

Consider System Restore to a point prior to the problem arising.

In the first link the girl had the same problem when closing..but there is no solution. I already did the steps with the disabling...but i don't have a word problem. Is there anywhere that has a solution to this?

I am going to read the other link now.
wait...did read that page before I posted here and did all the disabling and such but still no solution. This is so weird since it just started this week and like I said, didn't install anything new. I don't even use IE too much. I usually use Mozilla. It all started when I tried to use a program..movie maker that comes with xp and got an error message from that first.

Do you have Automatic Updates set to Automatic - if so you should have received amongst other updates (late Tuesday or Wednesday of this week) the cumulative security update for IE 7 - Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (KB944533) and I wonder if this is causing you a problem. As it is a critical update I doubt it can be uninstalled through Add/Remove Programs.

You posted that you had uninstalled and reinstalled IE 7 - did you also apply the updates and patches for IE 7 through Windows/Microsoft Update?

I don't see a connection between Movie Maker and IE, but you could consider a System Restore to a point before the problem arose.
